We have earned glowing praise after masterminding the \u201cmiraculous\u201d recovery of a critically ill Labrador.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We were the last hope for Vanessa and Steve Sears, the distraught owners of nine-year-old Autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The precious family pet was referred to us after deteriorating rapidly following a week of severe sickness, diarrhoea and bleeding, which had left her comatose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vanessa, from Brighouse, near Huddersfield, said: \u201cAutumn\nhad been extremely ill for nearly a week and had deteriorated fast, so we\nreally did fear the worst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019d been with our local vets, Calder Vets for four days\nbut she wasn\u2019t responding to treatment, wasn\u2019t eating and was very weak and\nvery, very poorly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe vets at Calder were very honest with us and said there\nwas little more they could do and recommended we take her to Paragon for urgent\nspecialist care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we arrived, Autumn was pretty much comatose and had to\nbe wheeled off on a trolley and we honestly wondered if that was the last time\nwe\u2019d see her alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe thought of losing her was too much but everyone at\nParagon was absolutely brilliant and five days later she was back home and well\non her way to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty miraculous really and we are so grateful to the\namazing team at Paragon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Autumn\u2019s remarkable road to recovery was mapped by our internal medicine specialist, Andrea Holmes and included five days of intensive treatment and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Andrea said: \u201cAutumn was referred to us as an emergency case\nand arrived in a critical state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cShe had profound vomiting and diarrhoea, both with blood,\nabnormal heart rhythms and she had collapsed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cOur investigations showed severe inflammatory bowel disease\nand she required treatment including a feeding tube. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cOnce diagnosed, Autumn was hospitalised and made really\ngood progress. Her recovery then continued at home with her owners feeding her\nliquid food via the feeding tube. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cWe\u2019re continuing to monitor her closely, including blood\ntests, and she remains on treatment for her inflammatory bowel disease, but she\nis responding very well to treatment and her owners are delighted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Vanessa added: \u201cAutumn has a lovely temperament and is a\nfabulous dog who\u2019s a treasured part of the family. It\u2019s great to have her home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cI knew she was returning to normal when I let her out into\nthe garden on her second night home. It was 3am and she stood there with her\nfavourite tennis ball in her mouth and was ready to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cThat really made me smile, I was so happy and we\u2019re\ndelighted to have her home and getting back to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
